May 11 11991 LuisM 2 N N
Note: A mated pair was at and near the new nesting platform but no incubation was taking place.
March 22 11761 LuisM 1 N N
Note: One Osprey was at the platform nest site for a while, for the first time this year.
April 6 11761 LuisM 2 N N
Note: The female was at the nesting platform. The male was nearby, then caught a fish at the south end of Mill Pond, returned near the platform, and fed.
April 13 11166 LuisM 0 N N
Note: I was in the area for an hour and fifty four minutes with no signs of Ospreys at or near the platform, which continues bare.
April 21 11743 LuisM 2 N N
Note: Both adults were adding nesting material to nest. Observation was conducted on behalf of Nature Explorations, of which I am a member.
April 21 11737 LuisM 1 N N
Note: Observation was conducted on behalf of Nature Explorations, of which I am a member. The male was at the nest site. A bit of nesting material had been added, but a much larger amount of material had fallen to the ground, as there is not much support on the structure.
April 22 11761 LuisM 2 N N
Note: The female was at the platform nest, with new nesting material having been added. The male was perched at a nearby small tree, left briefly, returned with a flounder and then fed at the same tree, with the female calling from the platform.
April 27 12143 LuisM 2 U N incubation
Note: The female was in incubation posture in nest the entire time. The male was feeding nearby, brought rest of fish to nest, but female did not accept the fish. The male then flew to another tree to resume feeding.
April 27 11166 LuisM 0 N N
Note: There is no activity at this nesting platform, which has remained empty the many years since it was erected. It appears to be too close to some tall trees.
April 28 11756 LuisM 2 N N
Note: Nest building was underway. Both adults were present.
April 29 11761 LuisM 2 U N incubation
Note: One Osprey was low in incubation posture in the nest, with the other at a nearby snag, before coming over to the nest.
April 30 11743 LuisM 2 N N incubation
Note: One bird was firmly in incubation posture in the nest. The other was feeding nearby. Observation was conducted on behalf of Nature Explorations, of which we are members.
April 30 11737 LuisM 1 N N
Note: An attempt was made to build a nest on the usual light fixture, but the material fell to the ground. One Osprey was always in the area. Observation was conducted on behalf of Nature Explorations, of which we are members.
May 4 11166 LuisM 0 N N
Note: The nest continues unoccupied. However, the male from the nearby Veterans Park Basketball Court nest at times uses this platform as a perch.
May 4 12143 LuisM 2 U N incubation
Note: One bird was firmly in incubation posture in the nest, with its mate nearby.
May 8 11761 LuisM 2 U N incubation
Note: Apparently, the male was in incubation posture at first, with the female at a nearby snag. The pair then exchanged roles, and the female appeared to settle lower in the nest.
May 16 12143 LuisM 2 U N incubation
Note: One bird was down in incubation posture in nest. Its mate brought over a piece of nesting material, and the pair then appeared to switch places in the nest.
May 16 11166 LuisM 0 N N
Note: The platform continues unused, as it has since it was erected many years ago. Perhaps it is too close to several taller trees just behind it.
May 20 11761 LuisM 2 U N incubation
Note: One bird was firmly in incubation posture, with its mate bringing additional nesting material.
May 25 11991 LuisM 1 U N incubation
Note: One Osprey was in incubation posture in the nest.
May 29 11761 LuisM 1 U N incubation
Note: One Osprey was firmly in incubation posture in the nest the entire time. Occasionally, it would call to its mate, which I was not able to locate.
May 30 12143 LuisM 2 U N incubation
Note: One Osprey was in incubation posture in nest the entire time, quietly. Another was nearby, and appeared to be its mate.
May 30 11166 LuisM 0 N N
Note: This platform continues unused. The nearby trees are too close, and now are encroaching on the platform.
June 5 11761 LuisM 2 N U feeding
Note: Both adults were at the nest, with the female feeding at least one chick, which was not visible yet.
June 8 12143 LuisM 1 U N incubation
Note: One Osprey continued firmly in incubation posture.
June 8 11166 LuisM 0 N N
Note: This platform continues vacant, with nearby trees encroaching on it. Some of the trees are taller than the platform.

June 28 12493 LuisM 2 N N
Note: The male was feeding at the tree nest site, with the female in the nest, but not in incubation posture. I could not detect any chicks at this time.

Note: The observation was made from the Prudence Island Ferry, heading back to Bristol. The male was feeding above the nest, with the female calling from the nest. The male then delivered the fish to the nest, and the female started feeding at least one confirmed chick.
July 7 11761 LuisM 2 N 3 feeding, young standing
Note: Both adults were at the nest. The female was feeding the remnants of a fish to one of the chicks, and calling to the male on the nest.
July 11 12143 LuisM 2 N 2 young standing
Note: Both adults were present, with the female at the nest with two large juveniles. The female was calling to the male the entire time, but no fish was delivered to nest.
July 11 11166 LuisM 0 N N
Note: The nesting platform continues vacant.
July 12 12493 LuisM 1 N N
